What’s the dress code?
Cocktail attire or whatever you’re comfortable in. It will likely be warm during the day and cool in the evening. Ladies -- spiky heels might be tough -- safer to go the wedge or flat shoe route.
Are my kids allowed?
Unless we’ve specifically spoken with you, please take this as a night off from your kiddos.
Is there a shuttle for the ceremony and reception?
Yes! See the travel tab for more info.
Where should I stay?
We recommend booking a room at one of the two hotels we have blocks reserved in. There are also plenty of Airbnb options if you'd prefer to do that.
How far are the hotels from the wedding venue?
Each hotel is less than a 15 minute drive to the wedding. (Pro-tip: there's an In-n-Out down the road from the Best Western.)
How should I get around?
Uber or Lyft are both available in Atascadero, but the demand may be greater than the supply with a surge of out-of-town guests. Your best bet is to rent a car for the duration of your trip.
We strongly suggest you use our shuttle for transportation to the wedding ceremony and reception.
What is there to do during non-wedding events?
Atascadero is in the heart of Paso Robles wine country (NAPA is for auto parts...). Most wineries welcome walk-in guests with a small tasting fee. Some of Jenny's favorite wineries include Adelaida, Alta Colina, Tablas Creek, Venteux, and Turley. There are also some awesome local breweries, including Firestone Walker and BarrelHouse Brewing Co.
You should probably eat a tri-tip sandwich (a Central Coast staple) at some point. Firestone Grill (not the brewery) in San Luis Obispo makes our favorite. Don't forget to order fries!
We also advise making a drive up Highway 1 towards Big Sur. BE ADVISED, due to mud slides, part of Highway 1 is closed just south of Gorda. You can drive as far north as Ragged Point (about an hour drive). Look for elephant seals along the way, and keep your eyes peeled for zebras in San Simeon. You can also schedule a tour at the grandiose, 50+ bedrooms Hearst Castle, 45 minutes from Atascadero.
